40$Cultivating Peace, Embracing Wonder
Words of Reassurance in a Time of Darkness (November 23, 9.30am-2.30pm)
Father McGivney took seriously the command of Jesus to “read the signs of the times,” as many 19th century Catholics were struggling to assimilate into the American economy. Today we, too, respond as Father McGivney did, attentive to Sacred Scripture, and to the longings of our hearts.
Through a mixture of conferences and quiet, shared faith, music, and contemporary film segments, we will ponder our gifts of abundance, our longing for the Holy, for mystery, for intimacy. Each of the conferences will invite participants to see through a different lens, exploring the reality of suffering, the delight of relationship. We ask the deeper question of meaning, and how we come to “cultivate depth and sacredness in everyday life.”
