The first two chapters of St. Luke’s Gospel offer us an opportunity to explore the heart of the Gospel of Jesus in the songs of his ancestors.

In the four hymns found in the first two chapters of Luke, Zechariah, Mary, Angels, and Simeon lift high their voices in praise and thanksgiving.

These hymns continue to be the spine of Christian Prayer reminding us that the praise of God invites us to be people of justice, love, and welcome.
