March 3, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
$352022 SEASON
THE PASSION IN THE TEXT
the Interrelationship of the Passion and the Hebrew Bible
The important and beautiful relationship between the Jewish Scriptures and the New Testament has been finally realized in our time in ways never before imagined. We begin our reflections exploring the important developments that have unfolded since the Second Vatican Council. The Christian Communities owe more than a debt of gratitude to their Jewish heritage without which we could never envision the wisdom of the Bible touching our lives today. We will reconsider the Eve / Mary relationship in light of these developments. Finally, we will explore how tragedy and loss gave birth to hope and courage as Jews and Christians join forces in the pursuit of justice and peace. Each meeting is an independent study. Notes will be provided.
