WEEK 2

DOWN TO THE WATER

DISCOVERING THE BELOVED

By Fr. Tom Bonacci, CP

This Reflection focuses on MARK 1: 9-11
Jesus has nothing to say to us before he experiences our longings, hurts, failures and desires. He goes down into the waters of his Baptism to become like us in all things. Jesus experiences himself as the “Beloved” of God. We are called to be the “Beloved of God” by virtue of the life of following after Jesus. Following in his footsteps, faithful disciples seek to immerse themselves in the reality of the people they serve.

Reflection Questions

DOWN TO THE WATER

DISCOVERING THE BELOVED

1. Did you ever meet someone who changed your life? In what ways?

2. Did you ever change another person’s life? In what ways?

3. Have you ever experienced yourself as “Beloved” of God? How would you describe or  explain your experience?

4. Have you ever met someone who you considered to be the “Beloved of God?” what  did you experience? How did the experience touch your life?
